What is the Young Leaders Programme and How Do I Get Involved?
To help enthuse and inspire more young people in Devon to get involved with sport and physical activity, the School Games Young Leader Programme provides the opportunity for young people to volunteer in a leadership role at the Devon School Games.
The role can be fun and rewarding. You get to encourage and support the younger children taking part at the School Games, ensuring they have an enjoyable and memorable experience. Alongside the children, you also get to work with Teachers and School Games Officers (SGO’s) which can help grow your leadership skills and confidence.
The role also gives you the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge towards potential future coaching qualifications, and is great to put on your CV.
