These are non-paid voluntary roles with reasonable expenses paid.
Initial three-year term reviewed annually.

We’re looking for exceptional people to join our Board and provide the strategic direction, oversight and passion that is essential to delivering our ambition. Our Board Members help lead Active Devon and keep us on track with our purpose. It is also time to replace our Chair so as well as new Board Members we also are seeking applicants who may be interested in that role.

It is a fantastic opportunity to help lead a highly accomplished, well regarded and values driven organisation – and one which makes a real difference to people’s lives in Devon.
We always want to ensure that we have a strong, complementary and diverse Board. We are particularly keen to hear from people with professional, voluntary or lived experience that can help us improve our understanding of the following:
- Communities most marginalised or under-represented in being active
- Barriers to activity for children and young people
- The role of physical activity related to environment/climate change; equality, diversity and inclusion, and marketing, communications and digital
We especially welcome applicants from under-represented or marginalised groups including, but not limited to, people with a disability or long-term health condition, care experienced people and those from ethnically diverse or LGBTQ+ communities.
How to Apply and Deadline for Your Application
The deadline for applications is Monday 9th October. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a follow up conversation with a panel of 2-3 Board Members week commencing 23rd October 2023.
We are always keen to work with applicants to make it easier for you to become a Board Member. We can make adjustments where needed, perhaps due to a disability or sensory impairment or with digital access.
