Neon Run: Lighting the Way to Active Devon’s Brand New Activity Challenge
“It was just a really fun day. I’ll remember it for the rest of my college life!” – Participant
Hundreds of girls and pupils identifying as female took part in a brand new activity event organised by Active Devon.
The Neon Run Celebration event, which took place during April 2022, was a huge success, particularly as many of those taking part hadn’t been keen participants in school sport before getting involved in this new challenge.
School based programmes such as ‘Couch to 5K’ were followed by a celebration event which brought all the Devon youngsters together for a fun day involving a 2K or 5K walk or run and other Birmingham 2022 themed activities. Both distances were open to primary and secondary school pupils. They also enjoyed designing and decorating their Devon School Games t-shirts with bright neon paints!
Take a look at our short film above and see why the Neon Run Celebration event was such a big success.
