What is Let’s Move’?

Let’s Move is a new place-based digital challenge and campaign. It launches on the 6th July 2020 and will be running for seven weeks throughout the summer.

The challenge and campaign is all about celebrating Devon’s wonderful communities and all that it means to be active in our beautiful county. Let’s Move provides an opportunity for you to join and support your community while being active daily. ‘Community’ could be your town, village, borough, parish, city or even ward.

The core message is that “a little change makes a big difference”, and that amidst the challenges of lockdown, recession and climate change, there is one thing that can help us all: to move more.

The challenge is open to everyone who resides in Devon. We invite and encourage people of all ages from all backgrounds and abilities to take part. All “moving minutes” will contribute to your team’s overall effort, with teams moving up and down the overall leader board as a result. Plus, there are some fantastic prizes to be won, so join in to avoid missing out!

Moving More Has Huge Benefits to Us All

The positive impacts of movement on our physical and mental health, community wellbeing, our shared spaces and the environment are all well proven. Let’s Move is a celebration of this.

Whether it’s getting out on your bike or doing sitting exercises at home, walking into town or dancing round the kitchen, Let’s Move is about movement in all its forms.

The last few months have been difficult for many people in Devon, and it has never been clearer just how important our communities are. Join your community now and “let’s move”. Our bodies, communities and shared future depend on it.

“At Active Devon we passionately believe that being active is important as ever.
