Move More and Feel Great With the Devon Girls Can Campaign

To support the national campaign This Girl Can and to bring this amazing campaign to life locally, Active Devon launched Devon Girls Can.

Through the Devon Girls Can campaign, more than a thousand women and girls across the county have been inspired to move more and feel great.

Be Inspired

We’ve worked with groups and organisations who are delivering brilliant initiatives to support women and girls to lead an active lifestyle. We have also recruited over 48 Devon Girls Can ambassadors, who have shared their inspirational stories and continue to motivate and encourage women and girls across Devon to take their first step by trying a new activity or sport.

Find Your Fit

We understand that one of the challenges of getting active is finding an activity that’s right for you. Take a look at our Get Active page for more information.

A Campaign For Women And Girls In 2020

Active Devon wants to reach, engage and inspire even more women and girls to wiggle, jiggle, move and prove that judgement, time, money and energy are barriers that can be overcome. We want women and girls to feel confident, feel proud and feel the health and wellbeing benefits of being active.

We aim to launch a Devon Girls Can Campaign in 2020, so keep checking our website. You can also keep up to date with the campaign and see what’s happening in your community, plus connect with or inspire other women and girls by following the Devon Girls Can on Facebook and Instagram.

Making A Difference

Young mum Rochelle got involved with the Devon Girls Can campaign after the birth of her daughter:

“I thought to myself, I don’t want to just sit at home and let the day go by. The campaign really struck a chord with me and I just went out and got a couple of dumbbells and started slowly and built up gradually with some very simple exercise programmes.

I feel so much better about myself and I would recommend getting involved, either as an individual or in one of the groups activities.”
