Using a multi-stakeholder experience-based design process to co-develop the Creating Active Schools Framework

Has your staff room been buzzing, like so many others, with the Active Schools Framework concept? Is your school starting to look at implementing the idea? If you have been left wondering what all the fuss is about and why you should bother, then this article is for you!
Yorkshire Sport Trust and others have been implementing this ground-breaking model in schools and this report outlines the progress so far,
“The CAS framework can be used to shape future policy, research and practice to embed sustainable physical activity interventions within schools. To enact such change, the CAS framework presents a potential paradigm shift, providing a map and method to guide future co-production by multiple experts of initiatives ‘with’ schools, while abandoning outdated traditional approaches of implementing interventions ‘on’ schools.”

If you are ready to take the next steps in your setting’s unique journey, then why not get in touch with Active Devon? We offer a free, non-judgemental consultation to schools keen to find out more about the Active Schools Framework bringing physical activity to life across the curriculum. We can support your school community to reap the benefits of fully inclusive, greater physical activity for all young people in your setting. schools@activedevon.org.
