Free Online Webinars for Deliverers Who Are Helping Older People Lead Active Lifestyles
Do you deliver physical activity sessions in Devon? Are you feeling worried and frustrated about not having contact with clients and other professionals during the coronavirus lockdown. Or maybe you are looking for an opportunity to build your skills and knowledge around working with older people?
Active Devon is developing different ways to ensure we can provide the most effective support to wider communities across Devon, and to help and encourage people to remain active during this period.
As part of this, we are working with specialist health partners to help raise awareness of the important of strength and balance activity for ageing well.
Strength and Balance Webinars
In collaboration with Later Life Training we are offering free places for two short online webinars.
We will be covering best practice, demystifying movement and exercise and looking at guidelines. Plus, how we develop and support the workforce and importantly, what can we do now to be ready for a return to normal or the ‘new normal’.
The webinars will take place on Monday 20th April and Friday 24th April, from 10-11am on both days.
The content will be spread out across the two webinars so it’s important to do both.
If you are keen to join in, you will need to complete this booking form. Once we receive your booking form, we will send you details on how to register online for the webinars.
Be a Part of Our Connected Network of Deliverers, Volunteers and Leaders
We will be building a package of support and a connected network of deliverers, volunteers, and leaders who are helping older people to lead active lifestyles, (Devon’s Workforce). To help with this we also ask that you complete our short survey here.
If you would like more information about the webinars please contact us using the contact button in the main menu.
In case you haven’t already seen, Active Devon has also set up a range of tools and resources for all the family. This includes tips and advice on staying active, plus a range of free online activity sessions and Active Apps.
During these strange and challenging times, we believe that:
“Everybody should stay at home and follow the latest government advice, protecting the NHS and saving lives. However, it is also more important than ever that people keep moving, as physical activity is crucial to good health and mental wellbeing. Throughout this crisis, here at Active Devon we’re doing all we can to support you, your family and your community, so that you have the tools and resources to remain active whatever the situation.” #StayInWorkOut
