Devon School Games United by Birmingham 2022
The Commonwealth Games are great, but what does it have to do with us in Devon?!
United by Birmingham 2022 has been created to deliver the Commonwealth Games legacy of improving the health and wellbeing of young people nationwide. Active Devon and the Devon School Games Organisers are really proud to have a role in this.
We’ll be working with schools across Devon to use the inspiration of the Commonwealth Games to give more young people positive experiences of school sport and physical activity.
We’ve created United by Birmingham 2022 inspired activities to support and achieve this goal. From seeing The Queen’s Baton up close and personal when it arrives in Devon on Monday 4th July, to delivering #UnitedbyB2022 Festivals at school, and having an opportunity to win tickets to the B2022 Closing Ceremony, there is something for everyone this summer!
Check out the competitions, events, challenges and resources below.
#UnitedbyB2022 Creative Competition
The #UnitedbyB2022 Creative Competition will run from Monday 6th June – Sunday 3rd July in the build up to the SEND Swim Festival and The Queen’s Baton’s Relay arriving in Exeter on Monday 4th July 2022.
This fun competition is open to children under the age of 16 years who reside in Devon, or attend school in Devon. Parents or schools can enter on behalf of the child via the entry form, which you can find with the T&Cs here.
Children talking part are challenged with the task of creating a piece of B2022 inspired art by drawing or painting a picture, making a model, scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing or just getting crafty with your own Commonwealth Games imagination.
There are also fantastic prizes to be won! Top prize is tickets for two adults and two children (aged under 16 years) to the Birmingham 2022 Closing Ceremony on the 8th August with up to a maximum of £200 towards travel expenses.
