Active Lives Children and Young People Report Shows Big Progress in Devon

We are thrilled to see that this year’s Active Lives Children and Young People Report has show significant increases in physical activity and active lifestyles for children and young people in a number of Devon’s regions. The Active Lives Children and Young People Report is Sport England‘s annual analysis of participation and attitudes towards physical activity.

With more and more evidence about the impact sedentary lifestyles can have, it has never been so important that children and young people get a love for moving at an early age, and form the habits that will go on to make for long, active and healthy lives. Highlights for us are the 19.1% increase in physical activity in Plymouth and 20.9% increase in North Devon, but the report also illustrates an improvement across the county.

All the team here at Active Devon would like to use this opportunity to thank everyone in our communities who provide physical activity opportunities, those supporting young people to attend activities and the many teachers, schools, volunteers and others, who are ensuring that physical activity is a significant part of children and young peoples’ lives.
