Devon Winter School Games March 7th – Paignton :
There were a number of successes for East Devon schools at the Winter Games. Congratulations to the following schools:
- Uffculme School– Gold medallists – U13 Girls Rugby
- Colyton Grammar School – Bronze medallists – U13 Girls Rugby
- The King’s School – Bronze medallists U13 Girls Volleyball
- Millwater School – Silver medallists SLD Football
- Colyton Grammar School – Silver medallists U16 Girls Badminton
- Exmouth Community College – Silver medallists U16 Boys Badminton
- Cullompton Community College - Spirit of the Games award – U16 Girls badminton
A big thank you to Sports Leaders, volunteers, and Young Ambassadors from The King’s School and Colyton Grammar School who assisted with refeering, judging and team management in Volleyball, rugby and badminton during the action packed Winter Games event.
In the Devon School Games Aviva Secondary Sportshall Athletics Finals Cullompton Community College and Uffculme School represented East Devon. Cullompton Girls finished a creditable 6th out of 15 schools in the U13 competition with Uffculme Girls finishing 10th.
Cullompton’s boys performed superbly to finish 2nd out of 15 schools behind St Peter’s High School from Exeter and take the silver medal. Uffculme’s Boys put up a strong showing to finish 5th overall
There were also strong performances from The Brixington Primary School team in the Aviva Primary Sportshall Athletics Finals, as they narrowly missed out on the bronze medal they finishing 4th overall.
