Volunteering

Did you watch the London 2012 Games Makers and become slightly wistful that you were not one of the 70,000 Games Makers that have been credited with 'Making the Games' with their smiles, the kindness and the support?

Fear not, you can still be part of the Olympic Legacy and become a volunteer in sport.  Have a look at some of the Olympic Legacy volunteer programmes you can get involved with and click the relevant links for details on how to sign up.

Sport Makers: Becoming a Sport Maker will give you the knowledge, information and connections to help you make sport happen. You will be one of 40,000 like-minded people who are making a difference to their communities whilst helping to deliver the official London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games sporting legacy, Places People Play, by inspiring more people to play sport.

In Devon, Active Devon aims to inspire 900 people to get involved, with each of them spending at least 10 hours organising or leading sporting activities. It is open to anyone aged 16 and over.  Find out more by clicking the link n the index to the left.

Join in: The Join In Trust encourages people across the country to get involved at their local sports facilities and promote volunteering in local community organisations and other institutions.  For more information on the initiative, click here.
