Sport Strategy Manager - Jill Borrow

I joined Active Devon in 2009, having previously worked for Devon County Council, Sport England and several local authorities in the Inner and Outer London area and the South East. I originally started my career as a PE Teacher before moving into Sports Development and Sports Facility Management. I’ve recently graduated from the University College of St Mark and St John with a Masters in Sports Development.

My main areas of focus at Active Devon include lead responsibility for our work with National Governing Bodies of Sport, Coach and Workforce Development, Facility Development and Funding. I have also worked as a volunteer lending my skills to Co- Chairing the Women’s Sports Foundation. In addition, I worked as the Secretary for the South West region of the Institute of Sport and Recreation Management, and for 15 years general help at a number of my sons’ sports clubs helping with everything from fund raising to cooking.

Sport has played a huge part in my life over the years, and this has made me keen to help others get the same enjoyment. I take things at a slightly slower pace these days, however I have recently joined the Devon Women’s Challenge Club, to get involved in fun outdoor activities in our beautiful countryside!
