Sport Strategy Manager - Jill Borrow

I have worked in Devon since 2001 as the Devon County Council Sports Development Officer, embedded since 2010 as part of the Active Devon team.

I am a Physical Education graduate, with a post graduate diploma in Management Studies and a Masters Degree in Sports Development at Marjons.

Prior to coming to Devon I worked for a variety of local authorities mostly in London and the South East, in a range of roles, including Sports Centre Management, Leisure and Environment Development, and for Sport England for five years.

In a voluntary capacity I am the South West representative on the National Strategic Forum of the Institute of Sport and Recreation Management, and also helping out at a couple of local sports clubs usually in the role of parent volunteer, driving, cooking, mopping and supporting.

I am much better at talking about and watching sport than actually doing it now, but over the years I have participated with varying degrees of success, but lots of enthusiasm in Athletics, Gymnastics, Hockey, Trampolining and Tennis.
