Run 4 Fun with Exeter City FC
New beginner running group from St James Park
Exeter City FC is launching a new running club for beginners in Exeter to boost their fitness and enjoy exercising outdoors.
The new club, which is part of the national Run England scheme, will be open to runners of all levels of fitness who are new to the sport and want to start running in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
The club will hold its first meeting on Thursday 27 September at St James’ Park, and will be a chance to meet organisers and fellow members before enjoying a leisurely jog around the streets of Exeter.
Jamie Vittles, Community Trust Manager for Exeter City FC said: “Britain’s success in the Olympics has been a great motivator for people wanting to get active and try a new sport, and our beginners’ running club is the perfect opportunity to boost your fitness, whatever level you’re starting from.
“Running is a fantastic sport to get into as you can do it at any time, anywhere, and all you need is a pair of trainers to get started. Being a part of a club is not only more fun than running on your own but the support likeminded members encourages you to keep going at it and not give up.”
The Exeter City FC running club will meet from 6.30 to 7.30pm on Thursday 27 September at St James’ Park.
